Revised Skill Posters

A while back we decided to start creating Skill Posters that used QR Code technology to add video content and to personalize student learning.

Volleyball Overhand Pass

The posters broke skills down into different steps and each step had a picture and learning cues associated to it. On top of this, each poster had a QR Code on the left hand side that linked to a YouTube video of the skill being demonstrated at both normal and slow-mo speeds. On the right hand side were three QR Codes, each linking to a practice activity of different degrees of expertise (one novice, one intermediate, and one expert).

We’ve revised the
Skill Posters by modifying the template so that we could make the QR Codes larger (and thus easier to scan) and by adding a Main Cues section (simple cues that the students could repeat in their heads while practicing).

We’re really proud of our skill posters and hope you enjoy the newly revised version of them. However, that’s not the only reason I am writing this.

Creating new posters can be time consuming and difficult, especially when dealing with sports we (our development team) are not fully familiar with. That is why we would like to invite the members of our
Network to help us in generating content so we can continue to produce these posters.

We’ve created a
Google Form that you can fill out to submit content for an upcoming Skill Poster. All we need is the written content: we will take care of the photos and videos for the poster.

I really hope that you will be able to find the time to contribute to our site. Please note that anyone who does help out will have a short profile section set up on our
Bloggers/Developers page.

Thank you all in advance!
