Crowdsourcing A Unit Plan

When I was in University, so much emphasis was placed on lesson/unit planning. Don’t get me wrong, I think planning is an extremely important part of the teaching process. It pushes you to think about new ways of presenting material, helps you prepare in advance for situations in your gym, and allows you to reflect on your lesson and grow from those reflections.
But let’s be honest: planning doesn’t usually rank high on teachers’ “favourite things about teaching” list. You won’t ever hear about a teacher who would turn down a Friday night out with friends because they were “just too excited to get lesson planning for next week”.
Its just not the way things are.
